Georgia O'Keefe hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new school construction on May 7, 2009.  The new school design has been finalized, and artist drawings were shown.  Keith Almquist represented PRORA, one of about seven neighborhood associations who attended.  The $14 million project is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2010.
